Habitat Restoration

Dedicated to the expansion and protection of native flora and fauna.

Native Plants

At Mystery Meadows, we have great biodiversity, but as many places across the country, native plants are under threat of invasive species. By actively planting and cultivating native plant life and the removal of non-native species, we aim to provide refuge for animals whose natural homes have been pushed to their limits. We are working to restore Illinois tallgrass prairie and woodland habitats on our property.

Permaculture

Food scarcity is one of humanity’s greatest threats. Our multifaceted garden project aims to reduce food scarcity and to encourage the adaptation of plant-based, habitat-friendly farming in our local community. Through a combination of food-forest techniques, edible native plants, and raised bed gardening, we aim to provide locally-grown, organic vegan food choices to all those who are hungry.

Inhabitants of Mystery Meadows

We aim to nurture and protect all lifeforms at Mystery Meadows.

Help us expand our restoration and permaculture initiatives!
